Quality Management Program

A quality management program is an all-encompassing system that is designed to increase the quality of a deliverable to the level that is required by the scope of the project. To do this effectively, the program should give the user the tools to accomplish this goal

In a quality management program, there should be three major sections that help in achieving the goal of incorporating quality into the deliverable. These are quality control, quality assurance and how to keep each of those areas constantly monitored so improvement on them can occur. Again, the overall idea is to improve the quality of the process and the deliverable, as much as possible.

The quality management program will help the project manager develop the procedures and methods that will be needed to implement a quality program into the project. Once this documentation is completed and approved, it can then be implemented into the project. The specifications that are included in this set of documents must come from the scope of the project. This way, the goals set forth by the stakeholders of the project can be achieved. This is the job of the quality assurance team.

Once the quality assurance team is done, the quality management program can be used by the quality control team to do the actual monitoring of the project, its processes and the deliverable. This involves the physical inspection of the items, as listed in the procedures that have been approved.

When a quality management program and the procedures it helps to create are properly implemented, everyone involved in the project can be considered part of the quality control team. This is done by training every team member on the quality procedures that are involved in the project.

The last part of what a quality management program does is considered the most important. This involves the continuous improvement of the entire system. The program will help the manager analyze any new facts or data that have been discovered during the run of the project. This is necessary since most businesses and their projects are constantly under the influences of factors out of their control, and adjustments are needed to be made so the procedures are still relevant to the project.
